In recent years, the number, sophistication and impact of cybercrime continues to grow and poses a serious and evolving threat to all areas of society including families.

Over the 2020–21 financial year, the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) received over 67,500 cybercrime reports, that’s an increase of nearly 13 per cent from the prior year or simply put – 1 every 8 minutes.

Self-reported losses from cybercrime total more than $33 billion and no sector of the Australian economy was immune from the impacts of cybercrime and other malicious cyber activity.
